FAQ - Your Questions, Answered
Everything you need to know before booking your magical visit.
Booking & Payment
Your booking is confirmed once the deposit has been received. Dates may be held for up to 24 hours without payment. Please note **Deposits are non-refundable. **Our parties can book up quickly, particularly during weekends, school holidays and peak party seasons, so we recommend securing your preferred date as soon as possible.
We recommend booking at least 4 weeks in advance, especially for weekends, school holidays and popular dates. Bookings are made on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability.
We may occasionally be able to accommodate last-minute bookings, so it’s always worth asking!
If you would like to change your package, character, duration or expected number of children, please contact us at least 7 days before your party.
We cannot guarantee that changes will be possible on the day of the party, and your package and outstanding balance cannot normally be amended at the last minute.
When you book two performers, we reserve the time for both performers and may turn away other potential bookings for that period. For this reason, a booking for two characters cannot normally be reduced to one character after confirmation.
If you’re unsure whether you’d like one or two characters, please contact us before booking and we’ll be happy to discuss the best option for your celebration.
Cancellations & Postponements
Your booking deposit is non-refundable, as it secures your date, time and performer and allows us to begin preparing for your celebration.
If you need to cancel your party, please contact us as soon as possible.
We completely understand that sometimes plans change or unexpected circumstances arise.
If you need to move your party to another date, please contact us as soon as possible. Where possible, we will do our best to transfer your booking to an alternative available date and time.
All postponements are subject to performer availability. Depending on the circumstances and how much notice is given, an additional charge may apply.
In the very unlikely event that we have to cancel your booking completely and cannot provide a suitable alternative, you will receive a full refund of payment.
Characters & Costumes
Yes! All our photographs are of our performers in the actual costumes and wigs we provide.
The Experience
Our parties are inclusive, fun and welcoming for all children. Everyone is encouraged to join in with games, dancing, storytelling and activities.
Our traditional princess parties are generally designed for children aged 3–10 years, but activities can be adapted to suit younger, older or mixed-age groups.
Every child is welcome to join in the magic!
Your Princess will bring everything they will need for your chosen package which may include: music, equipment, games, activities and props.
Please can YOU provide:
A safe, comfortable entertainment space.
One sturdy chair for the performer.
Access to a nearby power socket where possible.
An adult to help with equipment on arrival and departure.
Decorations, balloons and birthday cakes are NOT included.
Please provide parking as close to the entrance as possible. Any parking fees or permits are the organiser’s responsibility. Travel charges may apply outside our standard travel area.
Please provide clear directions if the venue is difficult to find.
If necessary, the best way for us to find you would be by providing your What3Words location which will give us an exact location on a map!
We need enough clear floor space for the children to comfortably sit, move, dance and participate in the activities included in your package.
The exact space required will depend on your chosen package and the number of children attending.
Alice's Princess Wonderland is based in Caister-on-Sea and will cover surrounding areas in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Locations further afield over a 20 mile radius from our base will have a small additional fuel surcharge, calculated at current fuel prices.
Children & Supervision
Our packages have recommended party numbers to ensure that every child receives a fun and engaging experience.
Unless otherwise agreed, our standard package pricing is based on a maximum of 30 children.
Larger groups can affect how well certain activities work and may affect the performer-to-child ratio.
If you expect more children than originally planned, please contact us before the party. We may be able to suggest a different package, or have another person with an enhanced DBS to assist on the day. Extra fees may apply.
Please include all children of walking age who will be present in the entertainment area, even if they are not the birthday child or were not originally expected to participate.
This helps us ensure that the party is appropriately planned and that our performer can safely and effectively entertain everyone.
A responsible adult must remain present and supervise the children at all times. Our performers are entertainers, not childminders, and cannot discipline or manage challenging behaviour.
Before & During the Party
We recommend having the children ready and settled at least 15 minutes before the entertainment begins.
This allows everyone to be ready for the princess’s arrival and helps us start the party on time.
Your performer will arrive and leave at the exact times stated on your booking.
If the party starts late due to circumstances outside the performer’s control, the performance will still finish at the originally agreed end time wherever reasonably possible.
If you would like your performer to arrive earlier to set up before guests arrive, additional time must be booked in advance.
For the best experience, we recommend serving food before or after the entertainment.
We kindly ask that children do not eat or drink directly around the performer while she is entertaining.
Our performers wear elaborate costumes, wigs and makeup, which can be easily damaged by rain.
If the weather is wet, we kindly ask that someone is available to help carry the performer’s party case and equipment from the vehicle to the entrance.
Allergies & Activities
It is the organiser’s responsibility to inform us before the party of any known allergies, sensitivities or medical considerations that may affect participation in activities.
This includes glitter tattoos or any other cosmetic/make up products that may be used.
The organiser is responsible for ensuring that appropriate parental/guardian permission has been obtained for children to participate in activities involving such products.
Photography
We may take photographs or videos during our performances for promotional purposes, including our website and social media.
As the organiser, you are responsible for informing us before the party if any child attending must not appear in promotional photographs or videos.
Please make sure all parents/guardians have been appropriately informed of your arrangements regarding photography.
If you have specific photography requirements, please let us know in advance.
